Jamison Galt, Assistant Pastor
Jamison was a bit of a nomad growing up but hails primarily from the Republic of Texas. As a child he often visited his aunt in Crown Heights and now that he’s moved to Brooklyn he’s trying to figure out a way to stay here for the rest of his life. Hopefully that counts for something. Jamison and his wife, Laura, who’s from a small town in Mississippi, were married in 2001 and since 2004 have been the proud parents of twins Arthur and Adaline.
The Galts moved to Brooklyn in the Summer of 2006 from St. Louis, after Jamison and Laura completed Masters degrees there at Covenant Theological Seminary. Jamison is on staff at Park Slope Church as an Assistant Pastor and church planting apprentice, having been ordained on Pentecost Sunday, 2007. He hopes to start a new congregation in another neighborhood in Brooklyn in the years to come. Toward that end, he participated in Redeemer Manhattan’s church planting Fellows’ program in 2007-2008. The Galts enjoy Brooklyn, French-pressed coffee, movies, all kinds of food and wine, theology, literature, friends, art, and geese. They often endure Dora the Explorer.
