Children's Ministry

As a microcosm of our neighborhood, Park Slope Presbyterian Church has many families with young children. One of our church’s core beliefs is that the church community is a family where we all care for and nurture one another, including our children. Children are welcome at our Sunday worship services, but we also offer Nursery/Toddler childcare and Children's Church during the worship service.

Nursery and Toddlers

Our Nursery offers a caring introduction to God’s community for infants. Childcare is offered each Sunday from 9:45 AM until 12:00 PM. The children are divided into two separate areas. The Nursery area is for children from birth to approximately 18 months. The Toddler area is for kids 18 months to three years of age.

We want to provide an environment where parents or caregivers of young children will feel comfortable leaving their little ones for a brief time during our worship service. Parents or caregivers are asked for basic information that will help us care for their children and then guided to the appropriate room with their child.

Children’s Church

Part way through the main Sunday service, children who are 3 years through third grade, are invited to leave and go to Children’s Church accompanied by their teacher. If you are visiting with us we request that you stop by the greeters table and sign-in your child. Children’s Church is held down the stairs in the gym. At the end of class time, children are brought back to you for communion and the remainder of the service.

Each Sunday we begin with a worship time where throughout the course of the year our kids are taught the Doxology, The Lord’s Prayer, and encouraged to sing songs and pray for others.  We enjoy worship together and then separate into age appropriate classes.

We currently have three classes for our Children’s Church. We are going through a chronological study of the scriptures with each class.  We pray that our children will learn to experience the presence of God, to wonder, to imagine, to reflect, to question, to create, and to interact as they learn and talk about their faith together.

We look forward to seeing you and your children. If you have any questions please contact the Coordinator, Deb Brown, at .
